This is what you need to do in your iSeries TCP configuration so that IE5.5+ can directly access the IFS like it was a windows folder:
CHGFTPA NAMEFMT(*PATH) LISTFMT(*UNIX)
TCP/IP needs to be stopped and restarted. When performing tasks that require frequent access to the iSeries IFS this can make life much easier as you do not need a mapped drive.
