Using Visual LANSA Framework RAD-PAD on Windows Vista requires a Microsoft Active-X component DHTMLEdit

Description:

RAD-PADs are commonly used during prototyping in place of real filters and command handlers.

Users can input notes, drag and drop images etc. onto them.

These RAD-PADs are only used by developers and not by end users.

Since Microsoft have stopped shipping this Active-X control called DHTMLedit your RAD-PADs might not work.

Note: LANSA’s support for the Vista operating system is outlined in Vista support in LANSA.

However, there is a workaround if you experienced this problem.

Solution:

A simple solution is to manually install the DHTMLEdit Microsoft Active-X control onto Vista.

This is the Microsoft website to download the Active-X control: DHTML Editing Control for Applications Redistributable Package (x86)

Note: Please note that Vista is no longer a supported O/S. Visual LANSA Framework has been changed to no longer use this Active-X control in the RAD-PAD design. LANSA recommnends installing a later version of the VLF.
